Introduction to Photoshop – Basic Information

Hello guys, Today we will talk about the basic information regarding Photoshop. We know there a number of photo editing software’s. But every software has its own properties and limitations. But Adobe Photoshop is vast package which is used by high level professionals. Before going to use of any this we should have to know what requirements are needed to install Adobe Photoshop CS6 on system are following:

 

Windows:
Intel® Pentium® 4 or AMD Athlon® 64 processor
Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 3 or Windows 7 with Service Pack 1. See the CS6 FAQ for more information about Windows support.
2 GB of RAM (3 GB recommended) for 32 bit; 2 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended) for 64 bit
11GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space required during installation (cannot install on removable flash-based storage devices)
1280×800 display (1280×1024 recommended) with 16-bit color and 512 MB of VRAM
OpenGL 2.0-capable system
DVD-ROM drive compatible with dual-layer DVDs
Java™ Runtime Environment 1.6 (included)
QuickTime7.6.6 software required for HTML5 media playback and multimedia features
Adobe® Flash® Player 10 software required to export SWF files

Do you have ever think that how Photoshop works. Let’s talk about this. When we open an image in Photoshop it interprets that image in pixels. Now, you are thinking about what is pixels. Pixels are the fundamental unit of an image. As we know fundamental unit means basic. So, we can say an image is the combination of these pixels. Pixels are in square size. Every image has a particular no. of pixels. In an image no. of pixels can vary but the size of pixels can’t be changed. These no. of pixels decides the resolution an image. Resolution is the no. of pixel along the width * no. of pixels along the height. E.g the image with resolution 1024*768 means it contains 1024 pixels along the width and 768 along the height.
