Amazon Web Services announced the immediate availability of the new Asia Pacific (Mumbai) Region on Monday June 27, 2016. Mumbai is the sixth AWS Region in Asia and as the thirteenth worldwide. Availability of the AWS Services in Mumbai bringing the total number of AWS availability zones to 35 worldwide.
The new AWS Mumbai Region consists of two separate availability zones. The new Mumbai Region is currently available for various services, including Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS).
